Dear God (Or Equally Supreme Being), Have Mercy On Us!

Caught this article today and my jaw just dropped… out of horror. It would appear that Paris Hilton has teamed up with comic book legend Stan “The Man” Lee to create a superhero (sit down for this) based on herself. This news leads me to but one question. What the hell is Stan Lee thinking!? This is the man who created Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, and so much more that we all hold so dear. Why has he lowered himself to such a standard? Sure there is the chance at working with a great piece of anorexic eye candy, but Paris Hilton? This abomination, rather than being a comic book character (though that will likely ensue), is to become a cartoon played on none other than MTV. Thanks for bringing us another P.O.S. show instead of playing some actual music MTV.

So what’s it about? Paris Hilton would not devulge any secrets (probably because she couldn’t remember), but here are some things that we hope for. 1) At least try to make the character seem a bit more interesting than an heiress who decides to use daddy’s money and that she makes from photo shoots and poor movies to fight crime. If not, at least show her in her famous “Thats Hot, Your Not” t-shirt. 2) That it is short-lived. This goes double if Hilton is voicing the character. Give it a season… if that. 3) That Stan Lee gets his ass back to writing killer comics. I’m not saying that is all he should do. I mean, who doesn’t like “Who Wants To Be A Superhero?” But I would love to see you write for Dynamite’s Project Superpowers or even revive some of the other long forgotten golden age hero. After all, he has the telent and power to do it single-handedly.

Hilton did give us a little clue… maybe. About her favorite superpower, she said, “I would love to be invisible – that would be fun.” Well Paris, despite your skeletal beauty, we at Neorama would love for you to be invisible too. I know, I know, “Your Hot, Im Not.”
